*death*

1 hour of sleep + no natural light at work (WTF, Japan, are y'all allergic to sunlight?!) + boring as shit work = today is going to be full of fail.

*death*

I'd honestly be OK if I had some natural light--sunlight resets my bodyclock to "awake" unless I've had a big meal and it's stretch out in the sun like a big kitty naptime. Florescent lights don't do jack but make my head hurt because I'm a light-sensitive migraineur. Which blows, because lack of sleep + florescent lights = migraine.

Yeah. Today is going to be full of fail.

Last Lie, Final Fantasy VII (Tifa/Cloud(Sephiroth))

Title: Last Lie
Author: [info]bofoddity
Rating: PG
Warnings: Post-apocalypse scenario, twist at the end
Word count: 145
Prompt: Final Fantasy VII - Tifa/Cloud(Sephiroth) - possession - It wasn’t until she saw his eyes
A/N: This is very short and vague, with liberties taken with the prompt, so I apologize to the prompter for not being able to focus on this as much as I should have. But better a solid ficlet than a loose longer piece, I hope.

At karaoke music!

When my we're-going-to-hell-see-our-handbasket? friend came down, we went out to karaoke. She liked a couple of the songs I did, and I promised to upload them for her. Which I did, and since I like sharing, I'm uploading them there, too. :D

So, yeah, these are my karaoke staples--some, at least; I left out the Jay Chou and the Gackt and the HY, mainly because I refrained from Jay, she already has the Gackt songs, and I put the HY on my iPod and took it off my comp for space, and now my iPod hates my comp and I can't transfer the files back, which is a damn shame because HY is summer. ^^;;

1. Hitoto Yo - Morainaki (plus Ken Hirai's cover) - Yay, syncopation! Makes vocalists happy.

2. JJ Lin - Tu ran lei le - THE happiest, sweetest little song evar. No one does cute little sweet love ballads like JJ Lin. (Except for when he does fucked up songs about stalkers killing people with lines like 'this is love, it's only love', which makes the cute little sweet love ballads kinda twitchy and if you want to be as twitched as I am, do a search for JJ Lin and "Sha Shou" (or "Killer") on Youtube and watch the video for that song or the mini-movie, and GAH.)

3. Abingdon Boys School - Via Dolorosa - Yay rock! Yay, arpeggios! Makes vocalists happy!

4. Ayaka - Why - Why yes, I AM a big screaming Crisis Core fangirl, how good of y'all to notice.

5. Hajime Chitose - Haru no katami - W00t, pop thoroughly infused with traditional Japanese melodies and singing styles, Hajime Chitose's trademarks. (And on a show-offy note, I kinda love watching Japanese people get all bug-eyed when they hear me able to sing like that. It's like the "I'm classically trained in opera" just kinda doesn't sink in... )

6. Joey Yung - Xiao xiao - Because Jay Chou has to come in here somewhere, and he wrote this song. And it's...it's...yeah, it's just that pretty. I love the "China Wind" style pop/traditional songs that Jay does, and this song he wrote for Joey Yung (a woman, btw), with the piano and the guzheng and pentatonic scale, and the lilting, delicate melody line, is just...just...yes.

I can has TV!!!

I have a TV! Finally, I have a TV!!!

Y'all know what this means? It means I can finally start playing my video games! >XDDDDD

That said, I'm not starting any games until this month is done, because I've got fic to write, plus I'm still in the middle of Crisis Core and Nanashi no Geemu. But but but! I can watch the news AND I can *glee* finally finish Kingdom Hearts. And god, there are so many games I've heard nothing but good about that now I can get and play and fangirl myself out over.

...I really, really, REALLY want to play Mizu no Senritsu now, though. Since I know I should be good and go buy real food, but I'm so tempted to pizza it up again and spend the rest of the evening playing my most favoritest dating sim EVAR. Or work on that fic that's, y'know, DUE next week.

Fuck it, I'm ordering a pizza, because YAY ONLINE ORDERING and having breakfast for tomorrow. I'm making up for lost pizza time.

ETA: Picamature! Of my shiny new 20 inch flatscreen TV! :DDD

Kinkfest - Week 3 Master List

Keep up the good work!

Here's the master list for week 3 -- 32 more pieces, 20 different fandoms. (The next list will probably be for week 4-and-then-some, since there are a few days left over at the end of the month.)

As always, if I've missed anything or made errors anywhere, please let me know!

Also, please, if you have time, browse through the lists and see if you missed anything you might want to check out -- we have a lot of cool stuff happening here that doesn't get much response, and that's really a shame. So take a look! And please leave comments where you can.

*death*

Work...so boring...shoot me in the head, put me out of my misery... *sob*

This job is SO not what it was sold to me as the vast majority of the time. Translation is, like, such a teeeeny little part half the time it's not even funny, and last month I was doing more Chinese translation than Japanese translation, and by "translation" I mean "looking up words and creating a new phonetic system for how native English speakers would pronounce Chinese words." I love my job when I actually get to do the translation part of it, but the "read these machine-translated sentences and evaluate them based on grammatical correctness and accuracy of translation, then rank the different outputs" is KILLING MY BRAIN. I'm having to basically grade babelfish gone horribly wrong, and it makes me make sad face.

I want a REAL translating job, dammit. *cry* Or at least to be done with this crap I'm doing now, but I know once I finish, there will be MORE. *death*

w00t, go me!

W00t, go me! The new fic is up to 40 pages now!

God, this is going to be long. I'm putting it away--in theory--for the rest of the week so I can work on the last remaining unwritten fic I have due this month.

I'm having so much fun with this thing. I can't wait until it's done, even though my brain really is trying to make this damnably long thing into a trilogy.

I told one of my RL friends about it, and then she told me I needed to write games. She reiterate this after I told her about Unparalled and what was going to happen in that. >XD;;; I don't think she'd realize the kind of crack game stories I would come up with--I still maintain my dating sim/zombie game idea would sell like MAD (tokimeki+siren=$$$$), but then, I am insane, so. ^^;;

And! It looks like I am definitely going to a Gackt concert. The bastard (and I say this with love) is for some reason completely blowing off Osaka and Kyoto this tour (WTF), so I'll have to go up to Tokyo. The tickets are reasonable, so I'm looking forward to it. I decided not to go back to the US this year for Christmas--I went last November for my grandfather's funeral, and I don't like going back to the US much, because my family is yeah no. I'd much rather spend my winter break with my friends (so far, plans are Gackt concert, onsen trip and finally learning how to ski, and New Year's in Tokyo to see if the "Twenty-something Drunk Men! Hug THIS foreign girl out of the group!" sign is still written on me somewhere--my friends think it's really freaky how this happens every year, that drunken men will see me and my friends, beeline straight for me, yell "HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!" and hug me. I don't understand it. It's up there with the uncanny "aww, puppy!" look that ojisan (middle-aged dudes) sometimes get when they see me--I should tell y'all about the insanity that was the second interview I had for my job, where afterwards the Canadian guy who had been there in the interview got all wide-eyed and said he had never seen his boss act like that before. Ever. XD;; I told the people at language school about the interview and everyone was like O_oWHUT, including my teachers. The guy grampa'd out on me the second he saw me, swear to god. *dies*)

And now, what I need is my bed because it is sleepytime and I am rambling. And I AM going to bed, not trying to finish this one scene. It can wait; bed cannot. :D

ETA - Sleep is for the weak, and my ij has a new subtitle, just because--now it matches my lj one, because I'm a dork and I like this one.

Yay!

The great thing about living by yourself is that you can sit around all day in a tank top and undies and it's OK.

So yeah, spent all of today in a tanktop and undies. And then took a shower because I was hot and sticky and am now sitting around in a sports bra and shorts. *glee*

And making today even better, Pizza-La, the only pizza delivery company near me, finally has joined the 21st century and enabled online pizza orders. This means I was able to order a pizza--one with pepperoni! this is a new thing in Japan; squid and corn with mayonnaise yes, pepperoni no, wtf--for dinner without having to have any human interaction at all, other than when the deliver guy shows up (and yeah, I have a shirt by me to pull on when the delivery guy comes, since I don't want to make the poor guy blind himself so that he never has to see the horrors of chubby, nigh-shirtless American ever again).

This was such a great day off. I sat around lazing and talking with a friend on the phone and in general doing absolutely nothing at all. And now I'm going to get pizza.

*glee*

Another reason I have to play FF12

I just checked the cast list of the Japanese FF12.

Balthier? Is done by Hirata Hiroaki. The guy who plays Sha Gojyo in Saiyuki.

Screw the International edition and English; I'm getting THAT ONE BECAUSE OMFG, BALTHIER IS GOJYO.

[info]stopthatgirl7

Yay, Nara!

I went to Nara today with a friend from Tokyo, and it was a LOT of fun--I finally got to see the exhibit on Buddhist art, but I might go again since we kind of rushed it, what with her not being a big museum person, and me not being a big "god, huge throng of people" person--I have no idea why the museum was packed, but it was, and it made me kinda twitchy after a while. I'm OK in crowded clubs, but in a museum when I want to soak up the stuff and look at it carefully and all that, and instead there are fifty bajillion people trying to occupy the same space, and yeah, no. But we did see a statue of a guardian god who was really hot and had three eyes and a horn, and we made comments ensuring that we will be going to hell. XD Worth it, though. (my friend almost killed me when we looked at one statue and I went, "...Hey, he looks like the guy that played Angel on Buffy!" and she died because it did. The face looked exactly like David Boreneaz (or however it's spelled), and she told me I was going to hell.

I told her she was going to hell when we got to the giant statue of Buddha in Todaiji, and she went, "...I like big Buddhas and I can't deny!"

There is special hell for us. >XD

Oh, and a deer tried to bite my butt when I didn't feed it deer crackers. It...got smacked on the nose for that. The deer were much pushier than they used to be; I blame all the testosterone since now all the males have horns and have to prove they were MANLY man deer or something.

...I smacked a lot of deer in the face today. Did I mention I'm going to a special hell?

We also watched a group of Japanese men having the MOTHER of all bad ideas--they taped deer crackers to one of their poor compatriots and sent him in to be mauled by deer. Luckily, the deer had more sense than the men and just looked at the idiot with deer crackers taped to him (including one taped to his crotch) and ignored him. This led to my friend declaring that Japanese men should not be allowed out in groups unsupervised.

We found a nice little pizza place and ate, then headed to karaoke. I haven't been to karaoke since March, and god, I missed it. We ended up staying for three hours, since both of us are singers, and we were going nuts with it, picking songs we both knew and harmonizing and improvising and all that, and it was SUCH fun.

I just got home and had a shower, so I no longer feel icky and grimy, which makes me a happy person. And I'm about to have a chuuhai (a relatively sweet alcoholic drink that's about as alcoholic as beer, but doesn't taste like ass--I've got kiwi and pineapple flavored, and they are TEH WIN) from the fridge, and that will make for an even happier jou. Chuuhai, writing out a scene I want to get done for the Epicfic, and then if I'm still awake enough, curling up with Tokyo Babylon or Nanashi no Geemu, and life? Will be pretty good. I'm easy to please.

:D

The things we get up to. ;)

Shockingly enough, after spending eight solid hours at Kings' Island theme park I am not sunburned at all. Considering my skin is so pale I could be perfectly camouflaged in a bowl of vanilla ice cream, this is quite a feat. It probably helped that my dear friend (lj)poptartodoom globbed sunscreen on my head. My hair is disgusting but at least I won't be in pain when I try to brush it tomorrow. ^_^

My feet are killing me, though. x_x Even with sunscreen, eight hours in a crowded theme park is still eight hours in a crowded theme park. Still, Poptart is pretty entertaining when you're waiting in line with her and the rides were worth the pain. Of course, our Beast Warsians had to tag along too, which made things even more fun. We'd decided that Rattrap and Dinobot were trying to one-up each other on the roller coasters all day (culminating with a session of synchronized barfing of oil), Cheetor would be enthusiastically dragging everyone on all the biggest rides, Silverbolt would be petrified of said rides and escape to spend the rest of the day winning plushies at the carnival games to give to Blackarachnia, Waspinator would be a hoopy frood and know where everyone's towel was (because he stole them all), Scorponok would try to take apart the rides to see how they worked, Rhinox and Optimus would chase each other on the bumper cars, and Megatron would just hang out in the Lazy River all day.

...We're weird. Further proof: we kitbashed Polly Pockets as us. Yes, really.
