My brain is being thoroughly inappropriate today.

While skimming a Ravelry message board, I saw mention of a shawl pattern called the "Colonnade" and the prompt thought was: "Okay, so if you're supposed to make lemonade when life hands you lemons, under what circumstances do you make colonnade?" O_o;;;;

Then kijikun made a post on Twitter about D.C. (as in the District of Columbia) legalizing gay marriage - which is wonderful news! Really, it is.

Except that Inappropriate Brain piped up with "Now if we could just convince Marvel to do the same!"

... ... ... I'd really better hope none of my co-workers make any comments that could be twisted into innuendo and/or a bad pun. *sigh*

Not that I think Marvel was doing a bang-up job on its own, but - but - but - !!!!!!!!

The only good thing I can think of here is that now they may retcon the whole brain deletion thing... but is it worth it if it's a Deus Ex Mickey-na?

Was watching the Derby coverage, and suddenly heard a few notes. Thought, "No, can't be!" Heard a few more and it was unmistakable - they stole "Driving with the Top Down" from the Iron Man soundtrack for one of the pre-race montages.

Well, except for brain-dead, but that's nothing new.

Have been trying to break a creative slump, and if I can find the right reference material I may even have something to post soon. Ish. I hope.

I don't know what it is with me and strange dreams lately.

First dream: getting chased by a angry bear while camping. I may or may not have actually woken up from that one squawking; only the cats know for sure, 'cause my housemates can sleep through quite a bit of noise. >,>

Second dream: reading a friend's story in a professional publication, and finding that a whole line of it had been replace by gibberish (of the sort created when somebody's cat walks across their computer keyboard) - and nobody at the magazine had caught it before the issue went to press. Oh, did I mention that this was the line that revealed the climax of the story's entire plot? >,0

Last night was graced with visions of large creatures with carapaces and far too many legs. No clue if they were bugs, crustaceans, or aliens of some kind. The dream-critters were freaky and unsettling, but they didn't act threatening, or even seem to notice me - I just had to deal with my own squick-reaction to them. (I'm blaming that one on the mix of cold medicines I took last night. *sweatdrop* )

...what kind of omen it is for the rest of the day, that I woke up this morning from a dream about a possessed toilet.

I mean, really. >,0

The dream started out as attending something that seemed like a cross between a family reunion and some kind of fannish get-together. I don't think the dream-me had any close friends of relatives involved, though. Anyway, the people in charge had just gathered folks around a campfire for the main event of the gathering (which I seem to recall involved alcohol somehow), when the weather suddenly turned nasty and ominous, and scattered everyone. I ran with several other people into a lodge-type building.

Since biological functions happen, apparently even when you've fallen into the middle of a sad, sorry excuse for a horror movie, I headed for the bathroom. Which was dark, not well-maintained, and just kind of gross overall. And I thought, 'great, this is just about the point where the toilet does something weird.'

And sure enough, the bowl obligingly welled up and flooded over, threatening to swamp my toes. I remember being glad that at least the last person had flushed, so it was nothing worse than clear water. But it still ticked me off, because, well, I had to go and this toilet was getting attitudinous on me.

So I hit it. Hard. And growled something about "Don't you EVEN start with me - !"

And it stopped flooding.

Well all right, so that much worked. I still really had to go, and I didn't trust the damned (perhaps literally) thing not to act up. So I was busy threatening to kick it off its base if it tried to get smart with me again...

...when I woke up. And realized - I had to go to the bathroom. So I crawled out of bed, used our nice, non-possessed toilet, and crawled back in to doze the 10 - 15 minutes left before my alarm went off.

That was my morning - how's all of yours going? =D
