WARNING: POLITICS INSIDE

"He seems to forget that we have elections for president in this country, not coronations."
- McCain aide Randy Scheunemann

Wait, let me get my sunglasses. The irony of a Republican aiming that comment at Barack Obama is blinding me.

Which party's dubiously- "elected" leader has been treating the country like his own personal kingdom rather than a democratic republic for the past 7 1/2 years? Why I believe it's yours, sir. You seem to be projecting just a bit.

Hate being sick. Had what may or may not have been bronchitis (didn't go to the doctor) but it's put me behind on everything, even writing, because I couldn't focus for beans. =P

(Not Quite) All Kinds of Mighty

Round 2 of upper-body workout at the gym. I managed the evil biceps curl machine this time!!! My first time through, the trainer had to give an assist on the last few curls of a set of 10... last night I made it to 15 on my own. *flexes* ... *snerts* ...shyeah, on all of 10 pounds. ^^;; I won't be winning any strength competitions just yet.

Still, it's better than I was doing last week, so!

On the docket for tonight: WALL-E! ♥ ♥ ♥ I can't say I've seen every single Pixar movie - missed "Cars" and a few of their shorts - but I've enjoyed every one I have seen.

Also, possibly pomegranate margaritas at Bar Louie. Oh so bad for me, but ooohhhhh so good.

Potential weekend plans = cock-blocked by weather. I would have loved to go ride roller-coasters all day Saturday, but with a 50/50 chance of thunderstorms all day? Not too darn likely. *sigh*

Hit the gym again last night for the "south of the border" workout (everything below the belly button). Wouldn't have been so bad except that I got the trainer who nagged about diet the whole time, and told me if I want to lose any weight at all then I've got to cut all processed sugar and carbonation and white bread and I-forget-what-all-else completely out of my diet.

...I wanted to look her straight in the eye and just say, "No. Now please just tell me the proper way to use the weight machines." Just because that's what works for her doesn't mean it's right for everybody.

Meh, was going to say more but it was all either random foo, or more whine-one-one material, so signing off now.

"Life's not fair, is it?"

Okay, I know that muscle weighs more than fat and all that, but I haven't been hitting the gym long enough put on that much of it yet. So why am I three pounds heavier today than I was at the start of last weekend?!? I swear, I didn't eat that much. *facepalm*

Arms are not as sore as I feared they would be, though. Either I didn't hit the weights hard enough, or the stretches afterwards really did do as much good as advertised.

Writing... well, some progress there, albeit of the slow and plodding variety. Have made two attempts at starting my kinkfest prompt, and hated them both; I do have a vague idea of where I want it to go, but I'm having trouble with how to begin it. "Setup goes first" didn't work, so next attempt is to just hit it running in medias res, and explain the 'why' via flashback... if I explain it at all.

Briefly considered signing up for Twitter, thinking maybe it would help me with being concise. But then I realized I just don't have that much to update with over the course of a day - or week - anyhow. ^^;; (Besides, the site seems to be getting overwhelmed on a regular basis, at the moment.)

Also, I need more sleep.
